It is typical for air to travel to the highest point in the Plumbing system. If in a home, go to the bathroom at the highest level, and/or the furthest away from where the water enters the home. Turn on both the hot and cold water to the bath tub. When you have a steady stream of water (with no spitting and sputtering), most of your air will be purged. Turn the hot and cold water off when complete. Follow the same procedures with the lavatory(s), shower, then flush the toilet last. Do this same pattern for all bathrooms in the home. The kitchen will usually be saved for last. You may also want to run the washing machine and dishwasher thru a short cycle. Is is not uncommon to hear a "thump" when doing this. Air removed.
