As all fish, there could be a lot of factors that play into its said condition and if you assume your fish is sick, there are a lot of conditions that might explain it.

Two very common sicknesses are

Fin rot; the fins will appear rotting or shredding as is another fish had been pecking at them.

Ick; white spots, like salt, along the body and fins. A small caution that if this is the case, treat as soon as possible and use a half portion of the ick treatement because where the I.d shark is scaleless, its skin is sensitive to chemical treatments and additives in a tank!

If the shark is on its side, gasping- these sharks are prone to hit against the tank walls and sometimes swim frantic and fast is starled and will lay on their sides when recovering from the shock; this is not being sick if the shark has had such an episode.
