Here is how it works. If you want a game that's coming out then you buy the card for $1. Once you do this, the card is activated on Target's computer. You need to keep your card and the receipt. Within 7 days of the game's release date you go back to the same Target and give them your card, and they find you (they save a copy for you after you reserve). Once they find you, you pay them the rest of the money (the $1 doesn't go towards the payment). The card is only for the use of Target saving you a copy. If you don't get your game within 7 days then they aren't responsible for your copy. The $5 gift card that you get can't go wards your game.
