It functions the same as any other automotive air conditioning system, albeit a sleeper cab tractor will typically have a second compressor for the air conditioning system in the sleeper.
This site looks promising http://www.nexttruckonline.com/ they sell trucks, tractor trailers and accessories/maintenance items that you would need for your tractor trailer.
As you didnot specify RV, Tractor trailer, Trailer dynamics or truck dynamics my question will speak directly to RV situations. The hitch loading on an RV fifth wheel hitch is designed to be between 10% and 15% of overall trailer weight. This is determind by trailer design and axle placement. In the Tractor trailer world they can move the trailer axles, The fifth wheel hitch location and plan the loading to achive the goal of roughly 1/2 trailer weight or less on the hitch. The Trailer looks like it balances on a pedistal and in a way it does. The trailer axles provide the stability side to side for the trailer. Just like a tricycle. The advantage of the Fifth Wheel set up is that the trailer does not have any leverage on the truck to make the truck turn or sway in cross winds or other poor conditions. I am sure you have seen video of trailers swaying out of control and pushing the tow vehicle into the ditch.
That filter is located just ahead of the seat, but under the tractor, it looks like an oil filter.
Um,... Yes. You can go to truck driving school. If you're looking for one in the USA, a good search word for google is "CDL" (commercial driver's license). I typed in "CDL" and "school", and it looks like there's quite a lot of them to choose from.
Depending upon the state you live in, it is usually not illegal. In fact, there are some public transportation systems that use a tractor attached to a fifth wheel (Passenger) trailer that looks much like a city bus except for the tractor and fifth wheel. These are not common, but have been used as I seen a picture of one in a big city once.Added: SOME states (but not many - you will have to individually check the states you wish to drive through) do allow it, but I believe that the ones that do, require some kind of communication between the tow vehicle and the trailer.
no you cant if it looks suspicious it may be
definitely twilight but I've seen the trailer of the runaways and it looks wicked
Unfortunately the model number you gave it not listed any where. It looks like a serial number. The Craftsman tractor model numbers are like this example :- "CRCRA17542"
It's a green light that should flash once every time you put your signal light on (either direction). This light tells you that the trailer wiring system that was built into the Disco is working properly. When you tow a trailer and connect the trailer lights to the LR wiring connection next to the hitch, the green "trailer" light on the dash should flash in sync with the signal light arrows every time you put on your signal light. This is telling you that your trailer lights are working properly. If the green "trailer" dash light does not flash, then you might have something wrong with the trailer lights or with the wiring. Unfortunatly Land Rover abandoned this feature on the Disco II.
Its more than likely condensation from your air condition system and nothing to worry about.
Looks like the going rate for a Model 3020 is about $8000.
