How does air suspension work on a 2002 crown Victoria and is it suppose to pump up almost every time after it sits for a day or so?

The air suspension is controlled by a leveling switch on the rear axel. If the air springs ( or bags ) as they are called do not lose any pressure, the pump will not work. If there is a leak of air pressure somewhere, then the pump will run quite often. Under normal conditions the pump may stay off for days.
