Yes, There are. Some chemotherapy regimens can cure certain types and Stem Cell Transplants and Bone Marrow transplants can sure it. I am having a Stem Cell Transplant for my Leukemia and looking forward to being better and cured!!
Bone marrow produces stem cells. These stem cells eventually develop into blood cells. Bone marrow is a critical part of the body because it is the body's main blood cell "factory." If something is wrong with the marrow, a person can become very ill, even die.In diseases such as leukemia and aplastic anemia, the bone marrow is unhealthy. The purpose of a bone marrow transplant is to put healthy stem cells in place of the unhealthy ones. This can treat or even cure the disease.
The goal of the transplant is to rebuild the recipient's blood cells and immune system and hopefully cure the underlying ailment.
The AP has reported that an American man with AIDS appears to have been cured of the disease after receiving a marrow transplant normally used to fight leukemia. Doctors and researchers are cautioning that it might be a fluke.
acute lymphatic leukemia, acute myelogenous leukemia, chronic myelogenous leukemia, Hodgkin disease, Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, neuroblastoma, severe combined immune deficiency, anapalstic anemia, thalassemia, sickle cell anemia, Fanconi's anemia
bone marrow transplant is the only known cure of sickle cell disease.
White blood cells are made in the bone marrow, and that is not affected by a blood transfusion. Transfusions help for a little while, but it is the bone marrow that is the problem.
Acute myelogenous leukemia can be cured you can get a bone marrow transplant. My best friend had in done December 5 2001 and we have never had any problems since then. I hope that helps and God bless!!
Bone marrow transplants are accompanied by serious and life-threatening risks. Furthermore, they are not always an absolute assurance of a cure for the underlying ailment; a disease may recur in the future.
PRAYER
Bone marrow is not a disease. It is the stuff inside bones where blood cells are made.
