The caffeine that is located in coffee can affect or alterate the metabolism.

First, the caffeine accelerates the pulse rate, then it accelerates the metabolism and finally the digestive system (you burn calories faster and digest what you ate faster)

A Perfect example of metabolism is a plant cell.

The plant cell needs energy so that it can convert the sun´s energy into energy useful for the cell and if this part of the cell die (this part of the cell is called chloroplast)

the cell can not produce energy and the metabolism stops working and after all the cell dies.

Caffeine is a mild central nervous system stimulant, and a diuretic. It is naturally found in the leaves, seeds, and fruit of more than 63 plants, which include tea, coffee, cacao, kola, and guarana. It has the ability to make us continue to stay busy/burn energy even when we are tired. It does not speed the metabolism.

Well, caffeine increases your heart rate. Which in turn, increases your metabolism.

That's the simple answer. Metabolism is the rate at which your body burns calories. The more caffeine you take, the faster your heart pumps, the more calories you'll burn. Don't drink too much though!

Yes caffeine does affect you. Caffeine is a drug and is a very common drug in the United States. To simplify what it does to you, it messes with your brain and keeps you alert( that's why most people drink coffee in the morning, to wake up)

I do believe that it does because to boost your metabolism you have to get everything moving and caffeine is the best thing to get everything moving that is why I do believe that vitamins that boost metabolism have caffeine in them.

Yes, caffeine does increase metabolism significantly. Most studies show the reaction from a single cup of coffee peaks within 45 minutes of ingestion, with effects slowly dissipating over the next 2 to 3 hours.
