Alot of jobs involve using a computer, and a computer class will teach you alot of things about using a computer, and things you would need to know for work.

All electrical and mechanical technologies will require some form of computer literacy to either operate or troubleshoot. For example, if your computer breaks down you would have to call in some form of help which could cost you up to $200, but if you knew enough about computers to fix it yourself it would cost $0.

Also, there are some technologies that are inferior to others but still maintain the illusion of superiority by praying on computer illiterate people's lack of understanding. These technologies sometimes cost even more than better products would have. Take, for example, most products made by Apple.

There will also likely be products that work but aren't user-friendly yet. That is, they work, but you have to be computer literate to understand how to use them. If you didn't understand how to use computers you would have to wait months or even years before you could use this technology.
