Bacteria and their debris in-between the teeth and under the gum line will keep building up if not taken care of. Infection will increase and gums will recede making teeth appear longer. Eventually, left untreated, it will turn into periodontal disease which can lead to many systemic problems. The bone will start to recede during the perio-phase and teeth will eventually start falling out from lack of support.
