How does depression affect children?

If you mean how a child deals with depression; the symptoms are different to an adult with depression and can be harder to recognize.

Symptoms include crying or throwing tantrums over smaller things, getting angry and frustrated, a lack of sleep or change in sleeping pattern, lack or change in appetite, social withdrawal, or an increased sensitivity to rejection. Severe cases may include pondering or thoughts on death or morbid aspects of life, and possibly thinking about the concept of suicide.
