In Federalism , there are two sets of Govt: central and state.

In countries having diverse culture and vast area federalism is suitable.

The reason is the govt can act in close liaison with each other and cooperation.

In India earlier it was competitive federalism but now post social welfare era it has been changed to cooperative federalism.
