it depends what animals and what type of fertilizer. if farmers use animal feces as a liquid fertilizer, then for some rodents it may be a positive thing, and for diggers too as this keeps the soil healthy. For others im afraid, its bad news as some animals are sensitive to bad bacteria and it may cause them to be ill but i think this is a rare case.
Chemical fertilizers are no good towards any animals. this is for the benifit of the plants only and can harm insects if they are sprayed so if you are planning on doing this yourself, take caution. pets should never be around when using chemical cleaners or fertilizers, weed killers, ect.
