The seed of the woman refers to Jesus Christ and his church, and the seed of the serpent is the devil and his people, and as Jesus and his church overcomes completely the devil and all evil by his resurrection and eternal life, so the devil may kill and hurt Jesus and his church (ie-bruising his heel):
