It doesn't. Imperialism grew out of competition between the powers and was expressed in the subjugation of other countries. Co-operation happened occasionally, as against China in 1900. But the episode was hardly distinguished by a spirit of co-operation from the perspective of the Chinese.

Imperialism is a nation or country trying to get more land or spread its beliefs
This is called imperialism. Imperialism occurs when a stronger nation extends its power and influence over a weaker nation, often taking control of its political, economic, and social aspects.
aquiring colonies was seen as a way of increasing the power and prestige of a nation, and thus inperialism helped stoke the fires of nationalism as well.
Andrew Carnegie was a prominent industrialist and philanthropist whose views on U.S. imperialism were complex. While he initially supported American expansionism, particularly in the context of economic interests, he later became a vocal critic of imperialism, arguing that it contradicted American democratic ideals. Carnegie's involvement in imperialism is also reflected in his efforts to promote peace and his opposition to the annexation of territories like the Philippines, believing that imperialism undermined the nation's values. Ultimately, his legacy is intertwined with both the era's expansionist policies and the push for peace and international cooperation.
Imperialism is when a nation colonizes another nation or territory. The Europeans believed that imperialism was important because they said that it was their responsibility to civilize those who they believed were inferior to them and because they wanted the other nations' resources.
Imperialism is meant to serve the needs of a ruling class much more than a nation. It has nothing to do with democracy.
