It might be a strange feeling at first, but it should never be painfully tight. The cups should support your breasts, without pulling down on the shoulder straps. It should feel as though your breasts are supported or controlled, so that they will not move or bounce when your body moves. When you take your bra off at the end of the day, you will probably notice some red marks but if they are very sore or painful then your bra may be too small.
