Nitrous oxide (N2O), commonly known as laughing gas, is a light sedative usually used in dentists' offices. Nitrous oxide is not commercially available as it can be used recreationally.

Laughing gas will make you think anything is funny because it triggers a nerve or something.

The above comment is completely wrong. Laughing gas works by taking away all the pain after the novacaine. It relaxes you so you feel like your on proper gas. and the clues in the name. I have had some recently and having some again tommrrow. You acctully giggle! well it depends on the person. Hope this helps :)

Lauhing gas is used for people who get nervous easily when like for example going to the dentist. It honestly makes you feel more relaxed as if you just smoked a bowl. Truely a legal high(:

It doesn't, exactly. It's an intoxicant, much like ethyl alcohol, and has vaguely similar effects. A lot of things seem much funnier when you're drunk.
