There is a difference between "radiation" and "contamination"
Radiation can be of different forms such as beta's, gamma's, etc. This is what is typically considered when this term is used.
Contamination is essentially when dust sized items that are radioactive are on your skin or ingested. This is very dangerous.
Keeping it at its simplest, a nucleus that is not in a stable state (i.e. has excess energy) releases some or all of that excess energy as radiation so as to achieve a more stable state.
Gamma rays are a type of radiation. Nuclear medicine techniques work through the detection of this kind of radiation injected into the body by adding a radioisotope to a certain drug.
Gamma radiation is the smallest, because they have no mass.
X-rays are not a type of nuclear radiation. They are a type of electromagnetic radiation.

Nuclear engineers work in labs working with radiation and sometimes even actual nuclear product. They learn how to work around problems and discover new ways radiation can be helpful or harmful to the human body.
Radiologists work with these.
There are no immediate signed of nuclear radiation.
Nuclear weapons emit nuclear radiation, with gamma radiation being the most common and dangerous.
Gamma rays are a type of radiation. Nuclear medicine techniques work through the detection of this kind of radiation injected into the body by adding a radioisotope to a certain drug.
Radiographers and radiologists, and scientists.
All sorts of nuclear radiation are dangerous. To use nuclear power safely the radiation in the reactor core must not be allowed to escape. Provided this is achieved, it is a safe industry. The health records of those who work on nuclear sites proves this.
Yucca Mountain is a proposed repository site for storing high-level nuclear waste in the United States. The site was chosen for its geologic stability and isolation to prevent radiation from reaching the environment. If approved and constructed, Yucca Mountain would be used to store spent nuclear fuel and other radioactive waste generated by nuclear power plants.
Nuclear radiation is not affected at all, but radiation by Electromagnetic Radiation is. This is a straight Physics topic, not Nuclear Energy.
Radiation is used in nuclear energy to generate heat through fission reactions in the reactor core. This heat is then used to produce steam that drives turbines to generate electricity. While radiation can be harnessed for the production of nuclear energy, it is important to control and manage it to prevent harmful exposure to humans and the environment.
Yes, that is correct. Nuclear radiation is the release of energy from the decay of atomic nuclei, which can take the form of particles (alpha, beta, neutrons) or electromagnetic waves (gamma rays).
fallout emits nuclear radiation, but lots of other things do too.fallout is particulates from dust size to baseball size, nuclear radiation is a mix of electromagnetic radiation and high speed subatomic particles.
