There are many emotions that can go along with being overweight or obese. While some people are able to embrace their size and love them selves, many cannot. These people are often targets of hurtful words, especially children who are teased. Media often negatively portrays people who are overweight or obese. This can lead to low self-esteem, low sense of self-worth, and - more seriously - depression and isolation. Many people do "emotionally" or "comfort" eat, meaning that they consume food when they feel upset or angry or any other specific emotion. Food triggers an immediate happiness, but this does not last long and this is an unhealthy way to cope with emotions.
