Basic answer: Gas is injected (most, if not all modern cars are fuel injected) into the combustion chamber, ignited by the spark plugs, explodes, and pushes the pistons, driving a crankshaft. Oil is used to lubricate the engine.
Yes definitely! Do Not Run it!! If there is no oil in your fuel it will seize the engine. Because the oil in your gas is the only oil that lubricates your motor.
It is a gas/oil mix motor, you don't change the oil.
No , you obviously don't understand 2 stroke engines
can someone tell me what the gas to oil mixture for a 48 spl Johnson boat motor is please
If its an oil injected motor there is a tank that holds the mixing oil if its just a straight carburated motor the oil mixes with the gas in a can then put it in the gas tank.
As long as the gas can was clean, then that would be ok.As long as the gas can was clean, then that would be ok.
a motor can not run with out oil, the motor will seize up and can break parts
If you have oil in your gas it might be over fuelled. The fuel will go past the rings and into the oil. You should see black smoke out the exhaust if this is the case . Your motor will run ruff if the carb. is not set right.
50 to 1 oil to gas
50 to 1 or 2oz of oil to 1gallon of gas
Normal mixture is 1 part of oil to 50 parts of gas (50:1). If run constantly at high speed, less oil may be used, but never less than 1 part of oil to 100 parts of gas (100:1).
1 quart of outboard / 2 cycle motor oil to 6 gallons of gas
