TIP Supervisors are hand selected by the program leader.
A TIP Supervisor should:
- Be able to dedicate a couple hours a day online to monitor and guide TIP members
- Not be known to disappear from the site for long periods
- Be knowledgeable of Wikianswers and the guidelines
- Have a positive and encouraging attitude
- Have shown excellent loyalty to the website
- Get along well with each of the current TIP Supervisors
- Be a good teacher and experienced with helping others
- Understand how to use Excel Spreadsheets
- Be available for a once-weekly meeting
- Have a brilliant eye for detail and eye for spotting things that are out of place
- Ideally be a Senior Mentor and Advanced Supervisor due to additional powers
As TIP grows, we will probably recruit more Supervisors to assist the program. However, too many TIP Supervisors at a time will likely cause confusion and of lack available roles.
There are no plans to recruit another Supervisor for the TIP staff at this time.
Nor are there likely to be any plans to recruit another Supervisor in the near future (too many staff members will result in confusion, stepping on each others toes and loss/misplacing of information).

Do you HAVE to join The Initiates Program to become a Supervisor?
No, not necessarily. You can join the Special Project Assistants and also become a Supervisor later. TIP generally takes less time than SPA, but TIP may be slightly stricter with how tasks are completed. In TIP you will also get a personal TIP Supervisor to help guide you.
How can you become supervisor on answers?
You can become a supervisor on Answers by getting into The Initiate's Program (TIP) and completing the assignments given. To qualify for TIP, you have to be a contributor in good standing and not subject to serious disciplinary action.

The time it takes to become a supervisor on WikiAnswers depends on how long it takes you to complete the TIP program and missions.
If an alternate I split for my TIP task is trashed by a Supervisor do I still get credit for the split?

How do I get a personal TIP Supervisor?
By default your personal TIP Supervisor when you join the program is the TIP Supervisor who invited you. However you may be reassigned to either of the other TIP Supervisors at any time during your TIP membership. If you want to personally request to be Supervised by a particular TIP Supervisor (Xnicola or Skullcandy88), please let us know. When one of the TIP Supervisors is unavailable for some time, the other will temporarily step in.
Can I request my personal TIP supervisor to be my Mentor when I am promoted to Supervisor?
Yes! It is perfectly acceptable to request that your TIP supervisor be your mentor when you are promoted to supervisor. You should try and ask your TIP supervisor as soon as possible after graduating from TIP so that they are aware of your request in time.
Am I guaranteed promotion to Supervisor if I graduate from TIP?
I wish I could say yes, there is a 100% guarantee". But that would be lying. There is a 98% chance of a TIP graduate becoming a supervisor. Those 2% who do not become a supervisor after graduating were found to be dishonest or broke the ToU/guidelines.
What should I do if another supervisor tells me to stop doing something that I need to do to complete my TIP mission?
Inform the Supervisor that what you are doing is for your task in TIP and ask why they stopped you. And please inform your TIP Supervisor. They will be able to look deeper to see if the Supervisor was correct to stop you from performing your task. If the Supervisor was correct to stop you, your TIP Supervisor will explain why and offer you guidance. If the Supervisor was not correct to stop you, your TIP Supervisor will encourage you to continue with the task and inform the Supervisor they were wrong to interrupt you.
How do you become a Admin on WikiAnswers?
You cant become an admin unless you get a job at Answers.com. However you can become a supervisor on the site. In order to become asupervisoryou need experience, and the best way to get that is through the TIP program, or SPA. The TIP Coordinator is Zapllar.
I don't like a certain mission in The Initiates Program so can I skip it?
Unfortunately not, no. In order to graduate and become a supervisor, you need to demonstrate that you have the ability to use the basic tools, before we give you the supervisor tools. However you may be able to discuss with your TIP Supervisor the possibility of coming back to the mission another time. Always talk to your TIP Supervisor if you need help - that is what they are for.
How long do you have to be a member of WikiAnswers to become a Supervisor?
You have join one of WikiAnswers groups, and then you will be assigned special tasks, then you will become a supervisor.
Who should I talk to if I have a question about my TIP mission?
You should talk to your personal TIP supervisor about any questions that you have. Alternatively you can talk to another TIP supervisor or the program coordinator Zapallar.
