∙ 8y agoFirst of all, I must admit that as a daughter of a technician I might be biased on this subject - but honestly if you need to ask how to install a garage door it means you are not ready to do it without a professional.
This is a complex system, not to mention incredibly heavy, so one can’t install an entire door, at least two poeple are needed. I must disagree with the former comment on having someone around in case of an accident - just avoid it in the first place, get it professionally done, and enjoy the warranty.
Even if you have all of the parts - the opener, springs, and everything from your previous door - most might not match the new door, especially the springs which are chosen in accordance with the door’s weight and size, and even the slightest change can do a lot of damage.
Make a few calls, read reviews, get recommendations and get it done professionally and safely. Good luck!
