How does one reset a key that has been electronically immobilized because of the use of a spare key on an Audi A6?

My wife TT spare key was reset by inserting it into the drivers door key slot, then turning anti-clockwise and holding it. It worked for us.

you need to go to fords and get a new key, the normal keys are electronically chipped to the fuel injectors and the spare keys dont have this chip therefore no petrol is running through.....
