Religion makes many positive outcomes for society and culture. These include charitable foundations, support for groups living through hard times, reinforced moral behaviour, inspiration for music and art, ceremonies and rituals, modern customs and positive attitudes and values. It also can form cultural cohesion within a communtiy. However there are some negative aspects such as religion can bring fear into a community and can turn people against each other due to a difference of belief. You're Welcome!
Religion affects culture in many ways, both positively and negatively. Religion is beneficial to our society because it gives a variety of different ways to worship should one choose to do so. Different branches of religion allow a person more choice as to which religion they will follow, depending on if that branch offers what they personally believe. Society in the United States allows for religions to respectfully practice what they believe, which is fortunate because some countries don't permit freedom to independently choose religion. However, though religion affects culture in positive ways, there are also negative aspects as well. Given that our country has so much freedom to worship, that can cause for occasional conflict. Some branches believe they aren't getting fair treatment, and this can cause turmoil between certain denominations. Mostly these quarrels are a result of ignorance on the part of people who are not open minded to ways different from their own. As long as people respect anothers views, the positives can far outweigh the negatives.
Because religion pretty much governs people's actions. For example in the Middle East some countries use the laws of the Islamic religion as the laws of the country.
Create? Neither can create the other. Shape or influence? Certainly. History shows that they borrow from each other and shape each other. The main religion in a culture typically supports the culture, just as the culture supports it; each accommodating the other.
Religion influences ethics and morality in everyday life. A person who indulgences in the religion of their choice can testify that decisions and crossroads they encounter are a reflection of their religion. So since these people are a participant in culture, their actions and reasoning also contributes to culture and shape the image it is today. Religion impacts culture by questioning, reasoning, and providing alternative solutions to the popular (but not always correct) ways our society functions.
