Shingles is caused by the chicken pox virus. It is not common in children but does occasionally happen. The pain often precedes the rash. The rash will look like groups of little fluid filled vessicles on red bases that will follow one or a few nerves.
One key to the diagnosis is that it will always be on one side of the body only except that it can slightly cross the midline in the back. If it is on both sides of the front it is unlikely to be shingles.
The toddlers do not get the shingles. They get the chicken pox. But then, very rarely you can get the baby with shingles, theoretically.
It manifests (usually on the upper trunk) as painful, bumpy, fluid-filled eruptions or vesicles. Shingles may also cause nerve pain (neuralgia).
From what I understand it is a blistering red rash.
Gross, they look gross

Yes, I was diagnosed with shingles that appeared on my inner thigh.
shingles can appear on the legs and ankles along with swelling. Shingles can show up anywhere on the body and may be limited to one side.
You should have the vaccine as an older adult if you had chicken pox as a child. Before shingles appear.
yes because i have had it on the elbow before.
Shingles are caused by one of the herpes viruses. They tend to appear when we are under stress. Most drugs can stress us, depending on the circumstances, but none of them cause shingles.
Shingles cannot be transmitted from person to person but the chicken box virus that causes shingles can be passed on to someone who has never contracted the shingles virus before. When the shingles rash has developed it is contagious but is not likely to be passed to another person if it is covered up.
You appear to be confused about the nature of shingles. A positive varicella titer shows that you have had chickenpox in the past, or that you have had the vaccine for chickenpox. You can't get shingles unless you've had chickenpox. If you have had chickenpox, a positive varicella titer is not protective against shingles, and you may need the vaccine. Discuss with your health care provider whether shingles vaccine makes sense for you.
no i have had shingles and they only appear around your ribsyou should maybe go see a doctor if the pain is very bad okay hope this helps
Yes. If you have shingles or similar-appearing bumps on the outside of your nose, it is critical that you get checked today by your health care provider, as infection affecting that nerve can also affect your eye, with serious consequences.
No. Shingles is not contagious, but someone with shingles can give chicken pox or varicella to someone who has not had chicken pox before.
