Breathing in second hand smoke is called passive smoking. Passive smoking is a serious yet hardly acknowledged problem, as the smoker in question is damaging not only their health but others around them, subconsciously. Passive smoking, like smoking, can lead to all the factors that smoking can. This includes, lung cancer, in fact any cancer, and a number of other smoking-related diseases. Aside from this, smoking is deemed as a highly anti-social activity. So, relating to your question, if someone in the family smokes. this could mean their behavior is withdrawn as they may smoke away from their family members who do not smoke. It also affects the family in more obvious ways also. For example, it could make the house smell, as smoke lingers especially in materials (couches, curtains, carpets, clothes etc) It also makes hair, breath, hands smell.
