I did my 6th grade science fair project on this. Some soda contains acid and can eat or decompose the meat. If soda has lemon in it the meat will turn brown and have white flakes around it, ( i'm not sure what this is called)

∙ 13y agoI've use recipies with it many time with many meats but mostly ribs. It's actually quite tasty as it gives the savoury meat a sweet flavor as well as the sugars also give the meat a slight crispness.
