Suffocation will indirectly affect the circulatory system.

Suffocation means that you are unable to breath. The lungs are not able to take in oxygen from the air. The oxygen does not transfer into the blood. The oxygen does not circulate in the blood throughout the body to nourish the cells. The cells in the body are not able to get the oxygen and eventually start dying. The most sensitive part of the body is the brain. After a few minutes of no oxygen, brain cells start dying.

Eventually the cells in the heart die, the heart stops and the circulatory system shuts down.
