The factory system is not one "box". The engine computer and body computer work together to provide the theft alarm functions.
If the same engineand, if both either have theft alarm or neither have theft alarm then it may work.
Behind the glove box on the right hand side is the anti-theft box and then just unplg it.Remove the fuse. Removing the fuse doesn't work. The alarm still operates, only no,it operates when you are driving the car. the alarm will go off with no reason or warning. additionally, the door locks won't work to turn off the alarm, you must use the keychain
Pulling the fuse and/or relay does not work. Still troubleshooting to figure out. Will post when known.
Yes
Install a new BCM. The BCM may or may not allow the car to start before you enable the anti-theft by setting a passlock value. If it doesn't you might have to choose between allowing the anti-theft to work normally and having a car that runs.
i replaced the fuel pump and now my theft system wont work
taking out he fuse disables the whole system..your alarm will no longer work
It's done with the "Transponder Key", it has a code that is used to unlock the anti theft. If you have a second key, try it. If you don't, the dealer will reset the system to work with a different key.
Many cars have a computer chip in the key - anti theft - it will work on the door and not the ignition.
In these cars the alarm system works in cojunction with the factory radio. If your problem is that you installed an aftermarket radio the system will not work properly. You can reset this control units by disconnecting them from power for about ten seconds. good luck.
it is the anti theft. lock all the doors the unlock the door with the key. try with passenger door too. if this does not work it is some other problem with your anti theft system.
