Human bodies have a number of strategies to fight infections. The whole of our infection apparatus is called the immune system. The human body's immune system doesn't just include white blood cells, which attempt to catch and destroy germs, but a variety of mechanisms that stops germs from creating infection. There are two types of infections which can infect the body and your health; the first is viral, and the second is bacterial. Viral infections often affect the nose, throat and the respiratory airway. Virus/Viral infections can only replicated once the germ is inside of a living cells organism. These types of infections often come on rapidly, with mild to serious symptoms: viruses can lead to a variety of symptoms. Viruses usually run their course in 3-14 days, depending on the type of virus; and many are highly contagious.

Bacterial infections can be mild to quite serious; the harmful bacterial infections can lead to serious illnesses and diseases. Pathogenic bacteria are capable of causing serious disease which includes staph, strep, even bacterial parasites…; bacterial infections as with viral infections, leads to a number of illnesses and diseases. Some of the serious illnesses caused by bacteria are MRSA, bacterial meningitis, Toxic shock syndrome, Smallpox, Cat Scratch Disease, Escherichia coli, Cholera…

Bacteria exist everywhere, in our homes (on every object), in the ground, in the air…; some of these infections are deadly. A bacterial infection can be treated with bacteriocidals, which are a class of antibiotics which kill bacteria. Sadly, many of these types of infections are becoming antibiotic resistant. These will not work in treating a viral infection. A healthy and strong immune system can help the body to fight off some of these infections, either a viral or bacterial. A bacterial infection is much more difficult to fight off, in the very young and in the old; the natural immune system is not as developed in the young or as strong as we get older.

You need a strong immune system and healthy white blood cells in order to fight off bacterial infections. The following suggestions that will help you to stay healthier, build up body's immune system, and/or prevent some infections; bacterial or viral as the case may be.

Ways to prevent and fight bacterial (and in some cases viral) infections naturally:

· To help you keep your immune system as healthy as possible; start by eating a healthy diet, drinking lots of water, and getting plenty of rest.

· To avoid exposure to an infectious bacteria or virus; wash your hands often. Not only will this help protect you; it will help to stop your spreading of bacteria or viruses to others. Wash your hands, especially after using the restroom, and before and after meals.

· Avoid touching your face (mouth and nose) as much as possible; and don't put things in your mouth, like pens, pencils, paperclips, needles, pins…

· Take vitamin D, it will help your body to naturally fight off bacterial infections, and viruses too. Exposing your skin to sunlight for at least 10 minutes, a couple times a day, will help you build your immune system. Sunlight exposure will also help to kill some of the harmful bacteria on the skin, thereby preventing some infections.

· Use apple cider vinegar and water as a vaginal douche; it helps to kill bacterial vaginosis, and it will help to rebuild the body's natural bacteria.

· Wash hands in a mixture a half and half apple cider vinegar; it helps kill bacteria on the skin much like an over-the-counter antibacterial, only it is more natural. (It may not smell as good as the OTC brands, but it is effective. I keep a spray bottle of this mixture by my kitchen sink, and use as needed.)

· To help prevent sinus infections, try using a Neti-pot and washing-out the sinuses with a salt water solution; it may prevent some bacterial infections, as well as a viral infections, while it cleanses the sinuses.

· Try eating or taking garlic pills daily, this helps to boost the immune system, it helps destroy some intestinal bacteria and parasites.

· Avoid exposing yourself to the open wounds or blood of others; if you have an open wound ware latex or non-latex gloves. This will help to prevent exposure to bacteria their blood may carry.

· Always use condoms (male and female) as it applies when having intercourse.

· Add Probiotics (or yogurt) to your diet, this natural enzyme will help build up your body's ability to fight off some forms of bacteria.

If you have an the more serious form of a bacterial infection, you will need medical care and prescription antibiotics in order to fight and cure the infection.

Generally, it releases antibodies to fight off the virus, however I can take days to get rid of the virus completely. It is good to drink fresh, hot green tea with honey. This gives something of a boost to the human immune system and generally helps improve congestion.

How the human blood protects your body against infection?

Human blood contains white blood cells, such as neutrophils, macrophages, and lymphocytes, that work together to fight off bacterial and viral infections. These cells help identify and destroy pathogens, as well as produce antibodies that can specifically target and neutralize harmful invaders. Additionally, blood contains proteins like antibodies and complement proteins that assist in the immune response by marking pathogens for destruction and enhancing the ability of white blood cells to engulf them.
