Cinematography is basically like photographing a movie (you are using very similar artistic aspects when photographing and filming), except you are capturing it with moving images. Lighting, color, tone, clothing, mood, focal point, focus, camera placement, depth of field, and movement are all very important elements in cinematography. Cinematography is the aesthetics of a motion picture film - it's what you see with the eye.Some of my favorite examples of beautiful cinematography can be seen in such films as: Atonement (2007), In the Mood for Love (2000), A Woman is a Woman (1961), Hiroshima Mon Amour (1959), 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), Amelie (2001), and The Tree of Life (2011).
