There are two major misconceptions in this question.
1. The platypus is not called the "duck-billed platypus".
2. The platypus does not live in the desert.
Platypuses live throughout eastern coastal Australia and its island state of Tasmania, particularly within heavily wooded and protected regions. They are found from the cooler sub-alpine areas in the south, such as Victoria and the Tasmanian highlands, north through New South Wales to tropical far north Queensland. Platypuses live in bushland as well as tropical, sub-tropical and temperate rainforests.
They do not, and cannot, live in the desert.
A xerophyte is a species of plant that has adapted to survive in an environment with little water, such as a desert.
by the little bit of water found in the desert or other places
Fungi require moisture to survive and the desert provides little of this commodity.
they already know and they are adapted to life with little water. Also, when they haunt...they find water in the south area
Cattle generally require the help of man to survive in a desert. Man must provide a source of drinking water and often must provide additional food during times of drought when little grass is available.
Some plants that can be found in The Little Sandy Desert in Australia include Mulga trees, Spinifex grass, Desert Oak trees, and Sandalwood trees. These plants are adapted to survive in the arid conditions of the desert with minimal water resources.
Unless that someone is a kangaroo rat or other such animal, they will not survive more than a day or two on that little amount of water. A human needs about 2 gallons of water per day in a hot desert.
'drinks' the little water the kalahari provides during the year (can be up to one meter high)
There are many plants that are adapted to living in deserts. They are called xerophytes - plants able to survive with little rainfall.
Desert is a harsh biome because there's drought and it seldom rains. Since most life needs water to survive, any place with little water will be difficult to live in.
The fig trees can survive cause they grow really fast even with little water, and because they are sort of like cactus and hold water for a long time. :)
duck + beaver = platypus
