How does the earths atmosphere get heated?
A process called the greenhouse effect heats the earth atmosphere. This process starts with the passing of solar radiation through the Earth's atmosphere. Most of the radiation is used to warm the Earth's surface. A smaller amount gets reflected back into atmosphere. In the atmosphere, there are many gasses (carbon dioxide, oxygen, etc.). Of these gasses, there are a group called greenhouse gasses which includes water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane, and ozone. These gasses are responsible for capturing the solar radiation and preventing it from escaping the atmosphere. The radiation is then reemitted in all direction of the Earth's atmosphere, therefore heating it up.and air pollution
the earths atmosphere is not heated by the sun. The suns light comes in through the atmosphere. 25% of it is lost through reflection and then 50% is used to heat the surface of the earth, which then makes the Earth warmer, and heats up the atmosphere. This heat is then stored around the earth because of the ozone layer, keeping us warm.
