The first pillar of Islam is Shahadah. No one can become a Muslim without having faith in the ONENESS of Almighty Allah. Having complete faith in Almighty Allah makes a Muslim Dauntless. He is not afraid of anybody and anything. He believes that he has to bow before Almighty Allah and none else. He follows the commands of Almighty Allah and becomes honest, just, truthful, loving and caring for the poor, needy in particular and all humans in general. His life is governed by the teachings of Islam, the Qur'an and the sayings of the last Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). He believes in universal human brotherhood.
The believers in one God and that Muhammad is His prophet are named Muslims. It is the first pillar of Islam five pillars. Refer to question below.
The first pillar of Islam, known as the Shahada, is the declaration of faith that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is his messenger. This pillar is significant as it serves as the foundation of Islamic belief and practice. It shapes the beliefs and practices of Muslims by emphasizing the oneness of God and the importance of following the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad. Muslims recite the Shahada daily as a reminder of their faith and commitment to Islam, and it influences their actions, decisions, and interactions with others in accordance with Islamic principles.
The First pillar of Islam deals with the concept of believing in ONE God and how not to believe. The first pillar of Islam sets Islam way apart from Christianity and Hinduism. A distinct line is drawn between monotheistic believes and polytheistic believes. Here Judaism and Islam share the same believes. The first pillar is also the foundation for the other pillars that follow. Additional to the first pillar is the believe in an inevitable Judgement day, the concept of Angels and jinn, the concept of prophets and messengers, the Quran as a holy book from God (Allah) and the idea of a paradise and hell. Once the Person have a firm grasp on this first pillar, then he is already considered a muslim. And a it will be impossible to convert to a believe system other than Islam. ____________________________________________________________ In addition to the above that I fully agree upon, the shahadah learns Muslims to ask support and Guidance only from Allah and teaches him/her to be obedient to the commands of Allah and His prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). What I, and other Muslim Brothers and Sisters in the world think that the significance of Islam is mainly the cleanness and pureness of the religion itself. Allah (SWT) created Humans, and everything living or breathing on this planet. Islam is not about killing or hurting others, it is about living to discover Islam. It is to please Allah (SWT) and helping others through Zakat (Charity, fourth pillar of Islam). We Muslims also believe that this lifetime is only a test. Allah (SWT) is watching us always and we have to please Allah (SWT). Islam: >First Pillar: Statement of Faith. "There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad (PBUH) is his Messenger." >Second Pillar: Prayers. Five times a day. >Third Pillar: Fasting. During the Holy Month of Ramadan. >Fourth Pillar: Charity. Sending halal money to the Muslim poor. >Fifth Pillar: Pilgrimage to Hajj. With halal money, Muslims travel to Saudi Arabia to make pilgrimage to Ka'aba.
The second pillar of Islam is offering prayer five times a day. It is the most important pillar after embracing Islam and having faith in the ONENESS of Almighty Allah. It differenciates between Islam and Kufr. The first question on the Day of Judgment will be asked about prayer,
