The tilt of the earth on its axis usually affects climate. A country in the northern hemisphere while tilted upward (in winter) is alot colder than a country in the Southern Hemisphere such as South america. which is in summer time.

The closeness to water will also affect the climate. If a country is close to the water then there is not much change in temperature from day to night. If it is desert then there can be as much as 40 degreee difference from night to daytime temperature.

The closer to the North Pole the colder, The closest to the Equator is warmer.

Becuase it is up by the North Pole and so that is why it has the climate that it has, and becuase the sun dosen't give off enought enegry to warm it up so it is snowy and cold.
