The same was all other prop driven aircraft work. The propeller provides thrust backwards, and acording to Newton's laws of conservation of momentum, the aircraft is pushed forwards. The wings of the aircraft produce lift acording to Bernoilli's principle. This puts the aircraft into the air and keeps it there. The control is established by moving the control surfaces to change the direction of the force over the wings.
