Space goes on as far as there are celestial objects to occupy it. Space and time (to astronomers) are mutually dependent functions - they call it "space-time". Everything in the universe is moving away from everything else continually, and hence, space continues to grow/time continues to go on. A better question is: Will this expansion go on forever?
