I'm not sure what you mean by this question. Wood is a hard solid object and wind will have little effect on it. However, if the wind has high enough velocity and the wood object is of a particular shape, the wind can exert a force against it.

I assume your question is directed towards the effect of Hurricanes and Tornadoes. The wind from these storms do a lot of damage because the are high enough velocity to push against buildings and trees that are made of wood. However, it is the structure or the tree that breaks from the forces.

In the case of a tree, the wind pushes against the leaves and small tree limbs and applies a force to the entire tree. The tree may break at the base near the ground. However, right next to the tree, you may have a telephone pole of the same diameter and it will not be broken. That is because the winds do not push against the round pole with much force.

A wind blowing against a single board has little or no effect. But a wing blowing against a house made up of many boards and planks and roofing tile will eventually fail under the total force of the wing pushing on the total area of the house.
