No.
No...Termites do not make noise but carpenter ants make shuffling noises in their chambers. If it is ants you will hear them.
cranch
Termites.
The termites would be unable to break down the cellulose in the wood. This would make the termites starve to death because they need the nutients from the cellulose to survive.
As a defensive mechanism termites produce naphthalene the same chemical that moth balls are made of. If your home is infested with termites the people and animals living there are in danger of Naphthalene poisoning which can prove fatal. If your cat ate a few termites there is no significant danger, anteaters, pagoline, and aardvarks make a living feeding off of termites.
Hemlock and spruce are woods that are not very resistant to termites. There are treatments that can be done to wood to make it termite proof. Redwood, cedar, and black walnut are all very resistant to termites.
Termites are known to do more damage to buildings because they actually eat the wood found in buildings and houses. Carpenter ants do damage as well, but only to make room for nests in wood.
Many make galleries, but termites & some wood boring beetles actually digest it.
they used termites and squashed it to make medicine to clean their selves in their bath time
Yes. Rock and hard metal music make termites chew faster.
Termites have been known to eat paper, cardboard, redwood, malleewood, chipboard, pine and have been found in the centre of treated pine posts, they would rather the pine( they love pine) than redwood, as it's softer, easier and quicker to eat. They eat wood which is on the ground as they nest in damp grounds, but if the wood is above the ground they will make a mud tunnel up a wall or along something else to reach the wood. They can demolish quite a lot in a short time, treat with poison where possible and as soon as possible.
