How does titantic compare to modern day cruise ships in size and number of passengers and crew?

Pretty favourably, but as the decades have gone by ocean liners far bigger than the 'Titanic' have been built. She was 882 feet long, 92 feet wide, weighed 46,000 tons and had a crew of 885, with maximum passenger capacity of 3,547.

During the 1930s, much bigger liners were built, inlcuding the Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth, Ile de France, United States,and several others. These were all larger than Titanic, with a greater passenger and crew capacity, although the Titanicwould still have compared favourably with them in these areas. With the advent of jet travel, liners became a bit smaller in the 1950s and '60s, such as the QE2 and the ill-fated Andrea Doria. The Titanic would have outclassed these vessels in size and capacity.

Nowadays, modern cruise liners are gigantic, often over 1,300 feet long, over 50 storeys high and with room for up to 4.500 passengers attended by over 1,000 crew. Many have been built by Greece, Italy or Russia, although there is also Britain's Queen Mary 2 and a number of huge US liners. These would not exactly dwarf the Titanic, but they are at least a third larger in size and can carry at least a thousand extra passengers.
