It is a communist country with the government planning all production and distribution of same. Like communism everywhere, it is outlandishly inefficient. The other Caribbean countries are capitalist or a mix of economies. Mostly they are small dictatorships with cruel impoverished citizens. Capitalism in the other Caribbean countries suffer from economic Darwinism.
