About 72 hours for the urine test. Much longer for the hair follicle test. EtG (ethyl glucuronide) is an alcohol metabolite that remains in your body for several days after the liver has cleared alcohol from the bloodstream.
Not days, but within a quarter of an hour. It measures alcohol intake constantly.
A 'regular' test can only show alcohol in urine until about 12 hours after alcohol intake. Very refined tests (not the kind that people stopped in traffic will face, though) can however detect some by-products caused by earlier alcohol use until about 60 to 80 hours - so 3 to 4 days - after the last alcohol consumption; shorter after only a modest intake, the full 80 days after heavy drinking.

Depends on the test. Urine tests check for the presence of a drug. In that respect, they are accurate within the limits of the test. If you are tested by a lab, their tests may or may not be more sensitive. For example, it is possible to pass a drugstore alcohol screening test within a day of drinking, but the EtG tests that are often used for probation screenings are far more sensitive, and will detect alcohol out as far as five days -- even alcohol that did not come from drinking.
