Up to 60 over but I personally wouldn't go past 40 if u plan to run any kind of horse power. Make sure u can buy 60 over pistons before any bore is done
The 350 Rocket from the olds is Far superior. I just put one in my Grand Prix switched from the 350 Chevy and with a 4 barrel holly carb you will notice a BIG difference.
As far as a direct bolt in engine swop NO NOT EVEN CLOSE.iF YOU know WHAT YOU ARE DOING YOU CAN PUT A 350 IN ANYTHING.
You can't... There's not enough steel in the cylinders to bore it that far. If you want a 454, you need to by a big block 454 Chevy engine.
The 350 Chevy engine has a 4" bore and 3.48" stroke. The formula for the area of a cylinder is pi times the radius squared times the stroke. 4.08 divided by 2 is 2.04*2.04*3.14159*3.48*8=363.98. Probably not possible to bore the block that far oversize without risk of hitting water.
No. There isn't enough material in a 305 to bore that far oversize without hitting water.
A 350 Chevy bored 80 over would be a 364 cubic inch V8. Here's a simple formula to figure the displacement of a V8 engine: Multiply bore X bore X stroke X 6.285 and you can figure out the displacement of any V8 engine based on what the bore and stroke is. Now, before you bore a block that far over, make sure the block can safely handle that much of an overbore. An extra 5 or 10 cubic inches isn't going to make enough of a difference to justify making the cylinder walls too thin.
chevy did not offer the ss package on 307 cid engine as far as I know they did offer it on the 350 cid how ever
If you know what you are doing, you can put a 350 in anything. But as far as a direct bolt in NO.
Timing to high / advanced to far. Idling to fast. This can cause that problem.
90 degrees
Such an endeavor would be far too cost-prohibitive to warrant any real serious consideration.
Im not too shure if they made an ss 350 but I remember they had a high performance SUV that was called the "Typhoon". It was a limited production vehicle that had a 262 or 350 twin turbo engine, very fast as far as SUV/trucks go. Google it or check out youtube and enter Typhoon, maybe that's what you're talking about. Hope this helps a bit.
