That depends on the miles per gallon a particular truck gets. Most will average between 5 and 7 miles per gallon so on 400 gallons that's between 2000 and 2800 miles on 400 gallons.
18 wheelers average 5-7 MPG so that would be 1200 to 1680 miles.
two sheep.
1000,000,0000 million miles and 70,90009
It depends upon the shape of the fuel tank & fuel milage of the vehicle.
You can go as far as your legs will carry you. I do like the legs answer, but thought this may help. First, you need to know a couple things about your vehicle. How far a single gallon of gas will take you and how many gallons you have left in your tank when the fuel light comes on. As soon as you can the next time the fuel light comes on, take out a loan and fill your tank. Note how many gallons of gas it took to fill it. Subtract that number of gallons from the total gallons your tank holds. That number will be how many gallons you have remaining when your fuel light comes on. If you know how many miles your truck will go on a gallon of gas, multiply your mileage by the number of gallons you have remaining when the fuel light comes on to get an idea how far you can continue before the engine dies of thirst. Example: Car "A" gets 30mpg. Fuel light comes on when I have 4 gallons of gas remaining in tank. 30mpg x 4 gallons =120 miles.
400 gallons
It does depend on the vehicle. First, you need to know a couple things about your vehicle. 1) How far a single gallon of gas will take you, 2) how many gallons you have left in your tank when the fuel light comes on, and 3) the number of gallons your fuel tank holds (you can get that last bit of info from the "specifications" section of your vehicle owner's manual). The next time your Low Fuel indicator comes on, as soon as you can, take out a loan and fill your tank. Note how many gallons of gas it took to fill it. Subtract the number of gallons it took to fill from the total gallons your tank holds. The difference will be how many gallons you have remaining when your fuel light comes on. If you know how many miles your vehicle will go on a gallon of gas, multiply your miles-per-gallon by the number of gallons you have remaining when the fuel light comes on to get an idea how far you can continue before the engine dies of thirst. Example: Car "A" gets 25mpg and holds 19 gallons in the fuel tank. Fuel light comes on. I fill the tank as soon as I can (withing a mile or three) and it takes 16 gallons. That means I have three gallons left in the tank when the "Low Fuel" light comes on. Knowing I can travel roughly 25 miles on each gallon, 3 gallons ought to take me about 75 miles. Using the above with my own vehicle-specific numbers, I should get 88 miles before it runs dry. On the interstate I've had to test that up to forty miles. It didn't run empty.
The answer I'm giving is based on my 1994 GMC Jimmy, which is still the "square" body style. The fuel tank holds 20 gallons as far as I know.
I have a 2001 Rodeo, The manual states that the fuel tank capacity is 20 gallons(US). My fuel warning light turns on when I have used 16 gallons(US), This is very consistant. So figure that you have 4 gallons(US) remaining. I get a consistant 18.5 MPG, which means that it is possible to go for an additional 75 miles, tho...I wouldn't ever try this without carrying extra fuel. Good luck
Depends on the fuel economy of the vehicle. You need to take the MPG times the size of the tank. So if the vehicle gets 10 mpg, times 15 gallons is 150 miles.
Apart from the fact that the question is far from clear, the answer probably depends on the fuel efficiency of the car and the driving style.
The light comes on when you have about 2 gallons left. You never need to run a fuel injected car this low on fuel.
