If you mean the Roman Catholic church, then the answer is none at all.
The study of medicine was never prohibited, as far as I know. Medieval governments and the medieval Church did not take issue with scientific study. That was more a thing of the Renaissance, when people got into witch hunts and fear of such things as the supposed dangers of science.
State and Church are apart in these days. That is as far as the law should go. A great issue is common about this. The government wants religion to be removed from class rooms but for then evolution should be mandatory for all schools. So far the court has been limiting the role of religion.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) is quite wealthy for the relatively small number of members that they have (about 14 million worldwide), and for the relatively short time that they have been around (about 180 years) however they are nowhere near the richest church or religious group in the world. The Catholic church is far far far more wealthy than the Mormon church and is most definitely the most wealthy Christian group in the world by far.
