It depends a good deal on both the type of wolf and the terrain (in rugged terrain, they tend to have a more compact territory). They can have a home range from 33 to 6,200 km² (depending on the type of wolf and where they reside). On average it is about 35 km². If the boundary of the area was a perfect circle that would translate to at least 21 km to traverse the circumference of the area. It is estimated that about 50% of the territory of a wolf pack is covered daily. Most of the 50% will be in the core of the area. If that central area were circumscribed by a circle, the circumference would be around 15 km. Of course they would travel back and forth across the area, not just roam around the edges, sot the total distance would be greater - probably at least twice the circumference. With all that said an estimate of 30-40 km daily is probably a reasonable estimate for a generic "wolf".
Wolves can range fifty to five hundred miles depending on pack densities in the area; so keeping that in mind and that a wolf can travel fifty miles per day at a steady lope, I'd say they'll travel as far as they need to without leaving their theoretical maximum territory of five hundred miles.
They usually travel 50 miles or more a day in search of food and other things.
