Answer

I don't think there is any particular distance you should stand away from it but if you really want to for extra safety or something then I'd say 1-2 metres.

Answer

I worry a lot about this too. I know it's probably just an old wives' tale, and that standing in front of the microwave probably isn't really dangerous, but still: what bothers me is that smells can escape the microwave. You can smell your food cooking in there. So if smells can escape, then why can't radiation escape, too?

What is a combination microwave?

Combination microwaves have a convection cycle built in along with the normal microwave portion. This allows the baking of foods, like pizza, that would not be able to be cooked in a normal microwave.

Can the convection oven microwave serve as a second oven?

== Why wouldn't the microwave oven part of a combination unit be as "good" as the microwave oven? They're essentially the same. A convection oven has a fan inside that circulates hot air in the oven around inside the cooking space when the "oven" part is in use. This "evens" the heat and promotes cooking efficiency and adds a bit of speed to the processs. But look at the microwave oven. A microwave oven has air blown through the cavity (the cooking space) by a fan when the unit is running. In this light, the ovens may be more similar than they are different. The air blown through the cavity is being forced through the cooling elements of the magnetron, the microwave generating device, and it enters the chamber already preheated. But the convection oven circulates hot air continuously, and this is an advantage. Microwave ovens work by adding energy to the hydrogen-oxygen bonds of water molecules inside food. This translates into an increase of the thermal or heat energy in the water. Because water molecules are the most affected by this method of heat-radiation cooking, it is a good idea to add a little water to your left-overs if they're a little on the dry side before re-warming them in the oven. This is a type of oven that uses a fan to circulate hot air around the object in the oven. This method reduces overall cooking time. The question asked if the microwave part of a microwave-convection oven was as good as a microwave-only unit. Yes, it is. They are the same thing. It's just that the microwave oven in a convection-microwave oven is built into a convection oven. It is unfair (and incorrect) to say that the convection-microwave oven is more efficient than a microwave oven when the performance of the two microwave ovens is compared. Certainly the combination unit has more features than the stand alone unit. It is more flexible; it has extended application and cooking "power" in its ability to prepare food. But the microwave portion of the combination unit is no better or worse than a conventional microwave oven.

Is microwave safe ceramic dish safe in oven?

Yes, at least up to 275 degrees Fahrenheit. That is all I have tested so far.

How far should you stand from the golf ball?

Far away.

Can you use china in the oven?

No, you should not put china in the oven. Certain ceramic dishes are safe for the oven, but china is too delicate and will overheat.AnswerActually, china that is manufactured today is far more versitile than people realize. Many pieces are microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe. That does not mean every brand or pattern will be, but some are. Look on the bottom of the dinner plate. If it says it's oven, microwave, or dishwasher safe, you can trust it. If it doesn't say anything, find out the brand and the pattern name and contact the manufacturer. If you can't figure out the pattern name, take the plate to a china dealer such as Bed, Bath and Beyond and ask.

My cabinets are 40", approximately how far down will the microwave hang Is there a required amount of space that should be between the range top and the bottom of the microwave?

The microwave itself it 16-7/16" tall; it should hang about this much below where you mount it. It is recommended that there be at least 30" of clearance between a range top and at a microwave

How far do you need to be to avoid blindness from an open door microwave?

That would depend on the operating power level of the device, the contents ofthe cooking chamber, and the exact angle from the sides of the oven to you.A microwave oven that's able to run with the door open is hazardous to peopleanywhere near it. DO NOT RUN IT. It must be unplugged, and repaired by atechnician who is factory-certified and knows what he's doing, before it's usedagain. Take it from an Electrical Engineer with 35 years' microwave experience:Do NOT call people into the kitchen and say "Hey look what the microwave is doing".It is nothing to play around with !

how far from a wall does this need to sit?

For normal functiong of the microwave , it does not need to be kept at distance from wall. But for general cleaning one should leave some gap between wall and microwave.

How do you dry clothes in an oven?

Should have convection oven to remove humidity...set very low temperature (50ºC or 60ºC maximum). Make sure they are far from the oven resistance. Close door and check regularly.
