Lava cant melt rocks.Rocks are the only thing that lava cant melt. (Well, not exactly.)
<><><><><>
Lava is melted rock. It is unlikely that lava alone, without an added heat source, could melt rocks. Its like melting ice - it requires more energy that you think it does to make that final state change. For example, water and ice in mixture at 32 degrees will not melt any further.
20 miles a minute: its unbelievible but true
Depending on the slope and other conditions it can travel less than 10 mi. per hour.
30 miles a hr.
Depends on the type of volcano. Violent go's slow, and weak go's fast.
Lava flows have been clocked at thirty kilometers per hour on the island of Hawaii. Lava usually travel at speeds of ten to three hundred meters per hour from shield volcanoes.
A mafic lava flow will move faster than a felsic lava flow due to its lower viscosity. However, felsic magma tends to erupt explosively, producing fast-moving pyroclastic flows instead of lava flows.
Video of Krakatoa shows blocky lava flows. These flows are slow that you can barely see their movement if you can see it at all.
Im not sure but I think its not fast but not slow so in the middle

it depends on how steep the slope is.
Lava is slow only, 10 mph at fastest but hot ash can go 200 mph.
Fast moving-melted lava.
Pumice is the result of extremely fast cooling lava.

The center of the earth is the hottest, and the crust is the furthest away from that heat.
Dacite lava flows at speeds orders of magnitude slower than mafic lava.
fast cooling lava -small crystals or no crystals
