it depends on how you are freezing it if you were just adding really cold water it wouldn't work but over a long period of cold days thoughout the whole day and night it would take about 3 - 4 weeks
At a steady temperature of -10 F, a small, non-spring fed lake freezes at a rate of 1 inch every four hours.
Well it depends on how cold it is on that day and how thick the ice is.Tip don't forget below 0 and it is ice .
Only if you eat it too fast, then you get a brain freeze.
They would die because the lake would freeze over completely.
i eat ice cream slow so i don't get a brain freeze
The fact that ice floats means that the lake probably will not freeze solid all the way down. There will still be liquid water at the bottom of the lake where the fish can stay alive all winter.
it will freeze fast
Fish go further down than the ice. The ice usually doesn't freeze all the way to the bottom. If the fish are trapped in shallow water or if the lake or stream freezes to the bottom, they will freeze.
Salt, if you put it on ice, melts the ice. So that probably what is causing it not to freeze as fast.
to freeze water it has to be at least 0 degres celcius. if it was -10 degres celcius then the water in a lake might only freeze 2 cm. the colder it gets the thicker the ice becomes but in this contry, or any other contry, it will never become cold enough to freeze all of the lake right down to the bottom.
ice can freeze any liquid and some solids
It'll melt pretty fast but if it is getting below freezing overnight the melted snow will just freeze.
it will freeze in to a ice block
