Depending on the engine that it has and driver skill of launching the automatic transmission, a Caprice Classic of those years will get between 8.0 - 11.0 0-60 times, roughly 17s 1/4 mile, and a top speed higher than is safe on the tires it's equipped with, but probably around 95mph - 110 mph
I have a 90' Caprice with a 305 that I brought up to 130mph.
It shouldn't be draining that fast unless you have a light on or something. The battery might be bad. For longer periods of inactivity you can disconnect the battery because the computer and radio draw small amounts of power even when turned off.
Try a lower temperature thermostat and check your air-dam. It could also be your radiator/antifreeze.
That's probably because that's the older van and the more original blinkers
Replace the spark plug wires, to much resistance.
