depends. 500gb is a decent Hard drive size, but the speed depends on the access speed. Hopefully it is a SATA drive, since PATA is very slow. SATA can be accessed at 1, 3, or 6 GBps. obviously the higher the number, the faster it can be accessed.
10 years ago i purchased a computer with 30gb hard drive and 250mb of ram! I thought that computer was amazingly fast! Now i have purchased a computer with 500gb of hard drive and 4 gb of ram and think that is super fast! In ten years it will probably default of 1 tb of hard drive and 10 gb of ram
